1. Introduction, apologies and substitutions
There were no apologies.
2. New petitions
2.1 P-04-407 Save Kennard Court Sheltered Accommodation for Older People
The Committee considered this petition for the first time and agreed to write to the Minister for Housing, Regeneration and Heritage and to Bron Afon Community Housing to seek their views on the subject of the petition.
It was agreed that the clerking team would let the Members know of any time-sensitive developments over the recess period.
2.2 P-04-408 Child and Adolescent Eating Disorder Service
The Committee considered this petition for the first time and agreed to:
Write to the Minister for Health and Social Services to seek her views on the petition;
Refer the petition to the Cross-party Group on Eating Disorders.
It was also noted that there is to be a review of the adult eating disorder framework.
3. Updates to previous petitions
3.1 P-04-405 Medieval Manuscript of the Laws of Hywel Dda
The Committee considered correspondence in relation to this petition and agreed to:
Write to the petitioner congratulating him on his work on this issue;
Close the petition, given that the manuscript has been purchased by the National Library of Wales.
3.2 P-04-324 Say No to Tan 8 - Windfarms & High Voltage
In light of the publication of the Environment and Sustainability Committee’s report of inquiry into Energy Planning and Policy in Wales, the Committee agreed to ask the petitioners whether they have any final comments to make before bringing consideration of the petition to a close in the autumn.
3.3 P-03-273 Transportation of Wind Turbines in Mid Wales
In light of the publication of the Environment and Sustainability Committee’s report of inquiry into Energy Planning and Policy in Wales, the Committee agreed to ask the petitioners whether they have any final comments to make before bringing consideration of the petition to a close in the autumn.
3.4 P-04-343 Prevent the Destruction of Amenities on Common Land - Anglesey
The Committee considered correspondence relating to this petition and agreed to await the outcome of the investigation by Rural Inspectorate Wales.
3.5 P-03-280 Cardiff Royal Infirmary
The Committee agreed to close the petition.
3.6 P-04-334 Petition for a New Renal Unit at Prince Charles Hospital
The Committee considered correspondence in relation to this issue and agreed to await the decision on a replacement unit expected in August 2012.
3.7 P-04-395 Wales Air Ambulance should Receive Government Funding
The Committee considered correspondence from the Minister for Health and Social Services on this petition and agreed to seek the petitioner’s view on it.
3.8 P-04-402 Council Prayers
The Committee considered legal advice relating to the subject of the petition and agreed to await the response of the Minister for Local Government and Communities to the Chair’s initial letter.
